Square Tube Signposts
For the convenience of our dealers, Nucor Steel Marion also offers square tube posts that meet the following specifications. Qwik-Punch® punch die-cut square tube signposts are also available.
Material
• Hot-rolled carbon sheet steel, structural quality ASTM designation A570, Grade 50.
• 12 gauge (.105" U.S.S. Gauge), or
• 14 gauge (.083" U.S.S. Gauge).
Shape
• Cross section is a square tube rolled to size and welded in the corner.
Length
• As specified on your purchase order with a length tolerance of + or - ¼".
Fabrication
• Posts shall be straight and have a smooth uniform finish.
• Consecutive sizes will telescope freely with a minimum amount of play.
Galvanizing
• Posts are galvanized to ASTM specification A-653 des. G-90.
• Corner weld is zinc coated after scarfing operation.
• Punch die-cut posts are in-line galvanized per AASHTO M-120.
• All galvanized posts receive a conversion coating and a clear polymer topcoat.
